We
Believe in the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the bible as the word of God.
(2 Timothy 3:16 - 17) All scripture is God-breathed and is useful
for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness,
(17) so that the man of God can be thoroughly equipped for every good
work.
We
believe that having faith is necessary.
(Hebrews 11:6 ) And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to Him must believe that he exists and that
he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
We
believe in repentance (turning from sinful ways & doing good).
(2 Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count
slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish
but for all to come to repentance.
We
believe in confessing Christ as our Lord the Son of God.
(Romans 10:9 -10) "that if you confess with your mouth. "Jesus
is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the
dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes,
resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting
in salvation."
We
believe baptism for forgiveness of sins (washes away sins).
(Acts 2:38) Peter said to
them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus
Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the
gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 22:16) And now what are you waiting
for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name."
We
believe in enduring to the end
(Matthew 24:13) Jesus said,
"But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved."
We
believe in obeying the Bible
(James 1:22) Do not merely
listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
Being a christian is
a life long journey. Each day is a new day that we must strive to
do our best. Once someone has accepted Jesus as Lord of their life
there should be a difference in the way they live. It should be evident
to all the watching world that they are walking with the Lord. Where
there are struggles with sin, we strive on a daily basis to repent.
We are all human, and the bible says we all fall short of the glory
of God, but that is not an excuse to continue sinning. We must strive
to be pleasing to our Father in heaven.

Since
this page is all about what our beliefs are, it would probably be
a good place to have these notes.
We
are simply a Christian church who goes by the bible and are autonomous
in our leadership.
We are not part of the International Churches of Christ, (also know
as the Boston church of Christ, the Boston movement, or the Crossroads
church.)
Also
If
you find a reference in a few various search directories saying that
we are "Christ Episcopal Church" it is not correct. Somehow
the search engines have mixed us up with a church that is near by.
The Leicester Church of Christ has never been Episcopalian.
We
are simply Christians who Believe in God, His son, and the Holy Spirit.

We
strive to follow the Bible and live our lives as closely as possible
to the first Christians in the New Testament.
